Final Analysis

As a coaching staff, we were very pleased with the progress over the fall season! The first weekend out was only after two weeks of practice and it showed as we took our lumps from Georgia Southern and Armstrong. That first weekend out for freshman can be nerve racking and even though I think they did well with only two weeks of practice under their belt our fans would have like to see better outcomes.

So, we bounced back and the very next weekend played Jacksonville University, another Div. I team, and came away with two wins. Both games offer great offensive learning opportunities as well as some pressure situations on defense to see how well we could stand up to the heat. The success on the field and at the plate showed how quickly this team will be at making adjustments and stepping up to challenges.

The final weekend included our alumni game and a doubleheader at Armstrong with games against Coastal Georgia and Armstrong Atlantic.

The alumni that were able to attend this year's event had a great time, played a solid game, and finished with a respectable score. Old Bees 1 - SCAD Bees 3

The doubleheader started with a win against Coastal Georgia with a very solid appearance on the mound by Kiara Boccia. The second game versus Armstrong turned out to be a slug fest with the final score of 7-5 and Armstrong gaining the advantage off of a grand slam in the 5th.

Overall, a great start for our 2009-10 season! We have all the tools necessary to go back to the NAIA national tournament and make some noise. Speed, pitching, power, defense, and leadership! Can we skip the holidays?
