The Bees season record: 10-0, 3-0 in conference play

Game1: SCAD vs. Ave Maria

The SCAD Softball Team continues their winning ways by defeating Ave Maria in the first game of their 3-game series.  The win also marks the first win in conference play.  The Bees have now won their first 8 games without a defeat.  They are 1-0 in conference play.

Sydnee Schorr won her third game in the young season.  She pitched a complete game and allowed only one run on a Ave Maria homerun in the third inning - Schorr's only blemish on an otherwise outstanding pitching performance.

The SCAD offense did not allow the 1-0 Ave Maria lead to last.  In the very next inning SCAD tied the game on a double by Erica Garcia, a sacrifice by Brian Mateo, and a sacrifice fly by Nirana Singh.

The Bees put the game on ice in the fourth inning.  After a Krista Ross single, Alexis Castillo-Snyder walked.  Erica Garcia plated one run with a double.  She was followed by Mateo's 2-run single.  Score after 4 innings, SCAD 4, Ave Maria 1'

SCAD completed the scoring in the fifth inning on a Kylie Rash single, a sacrifice by Jessaca Spears, and a Brittany Gonzales RBI base hit.  The 5-1 lead was all that Schorr needed to finish off Ave Maria and give SCAD its first conference win.

Game 2: SCAD vs. Ave Maria

In the top of the first inning Niana Singh opened the game with a triple.  Kylie Rash brought her in on a ground out.  In the fourth inning, two Bees' hits, a couple of stolen bases by Alexis Castillo-Snyder and Kayla Myles, and a passed ball, resulted in two more runs.

That would really be all that pitcher Sam White would need to win her third game of the season.  In fact, White ended up pitching a 1-hitter and SCAD added two more runs in the last two innings to win the game 5-1.

Game 3: SCAD vs. Ave Maria

If you arrived after the first inning of the second game of the double-header you would have missed all the scoring.  Three hits and two Ave Maria errors accounted for two SCAD runs.

Again, this would be all that the SCAD pitcher, Kiara Boccia would need to win her second game of the season.  As well as Sam White pitched in the first game (a 1-hit, 1-run win), Boccia went one better.  Boccia pitched a 1-hit, 0-run game.  That is correct.  SCAD pitchers White and Boccia both pitched 1-hit victories.  You cannot do much better than that!!

The Bees have improved their record to 10-0, 3-0 in conference play.
