SCAD vs. Brewton-Parker University

On February 24th SCAD faced Brewton-Parker University.

Game 1

Power hitting and strong pitching accounted for a 12-3 six inning win over Brewton-Parker.   The middle of the Bees line-up, Spears, Gonzales, Kline, and Ross produced 8 hits, 7 RBI's, 6 runs, and 4 extra-base hits that included 3 home runs and a triple. 

Despite the horrible weather conditions the SCAD pitchers were able to keep the Bruins off the bases and racked up nine strikeouts.  Olivia Kline got the start and the win, while Sam White closed with 5 strike outs and no hits in her two innings on the mound.

Game 2

The Bees allowed the Bruins a quick lead in the first three innings and then erupted for nine runs in the fourth.  The fourth inning started with a walk to Rash and a stolen base. Spears then sacrificed and Gonzales grounded out to the right side to score the run. The scoring opportunity seemed to be over until Kline ripped a double to left center. The Bruins committed a throwing error to give Ross an extra base and score Kline. Another walked issued to Snyder brought Boccia to the plate and she would give herself the lead and a win with a double to dead center that scored two. Erica Garcia picked up her first college hit and RBI to add another run.  Nirana Singh and Rash would reach by error and a walk respectively. That would give Spears the opportunity to drive in two more runs with her double.  The final run came off a Gonzales single. Even the final out was exciting.  A great catch by the Bruin right fielder robbed Kline of another extra base hit in the inning.  Freshman, Sydnee Schorr, came in to close and faced the minimum of 9 batters in the final three innings.  Schorr gave up no hits, no walks, and struck out three.
