Class of 2009

The SCAD Softball program is really excited to announce the recruiting class of 2009!

Samantha White and Kiara Boccia will be two new faces for the Bees on the mound. Sam comes from Tucson, AZ and played for the Desert Thunder summer team where she established a .55 ERA and 141 strikeouts in 88 innings. In her senior high school season she finished with a 0 ERA and 111 strikeouts in 53 innings. Kiara from San Diego plays for the San Diego Power Surge coached by Dave George. At Cathedral Catholic High School Kiara has earned the honors of All-City, Pitcher of the Year, and Team MVP. Kiara is a true utility player and will see time on the infield as well.

On the infield new faces will include, Krista Ross, Jamie Paolini, and Candle Pfefferle. Krista a third baseman from Torrance, CA plays with Mizuno Pride 18u Gold. She is a strong defensive player but it is her bat that the coaching staff is excited to have in the lineup with a high school batting average of .506 and plenty of power. Jamie a first baseman from Lauderhill, FL plays with the Davie Power Black. Jamie is a power hitting lefty with the potential to work in the outfield for the Bees as well. Candle is a catcher from Boynton Beach, FL that comes from the West Boynton Lady Bandits. She is another strong bat added to the SCAD line up in 2009-10 and has the possibility of working as a first or third baseman.

"This is probably the strongest recruiting class we have had at SCAD since the first year we transitioned to NAIA. This group brings power pitching to the mound, strength and depth to our defense, and big bats to the batting order." Coach Knecht

The Bees only lose one player to graduation from the 2008-09 squad and the addition of five strong recruits and a returning line up adds to the excitement of an already bright future for the softball program.
