DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - SCAD pitcher, Lisa Williams has been named The Sun Conference Pitcher of the Week, for the week beginning April 6, 2009.
Williams picked up three wins over Edward Waters this past weekend, two coming by shutout. She had 18 strikeouts on the weekend in 13.0 innings pitched.
On the season, Williams is 6-4 with a 1.58 ERA.
Other nominees include: Kristen Stewart, Webber International; Megan Smith, Northwood; Samantha Swofford, Warner; and Kelly Diebler, St. Thomas.
Player of the Week

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Sun Conference announced on Monday, Apr. 6, that Courtney Mienkina has been named the Conference Player of the Week. This is Mienkina'a third time this year being the Sun Conference player of the week this year.
Mienkina batter .750 as she led the Bees to a sweep over Edward Waters this past weekend. She was 6-for-8 at the plate with three runs scored and eight RBI. She hit two doubles in the second game of the series.
On the season, Mienkina is hitting .532 with 41 hits and 32 RBI.
Other nominees include: Kayla Saastamoinen, Northwood; Kristen LeFan, Webber International; Melissa King, St. Thomas; and Hope Franklin, Warner.
